Technology in Automobiles

Technology in automobiles has come far in recent years. With navigation being offered almost all vehicles as well as OnStar. These new technologies increase the cost of the vehicles but they are the latest trends and they are very popular. The new Acura TL and RL both offer bluetooth technology in their vehicles as well as voice activation. Bluetooth allows any phonecalls made to be transmitted through the automobile speaker system automatically. The voice activation allows the driver to control basic functions while paying attention to the road. These new technologies are being offered in many vehicles currently on the market. As time progresses these upgrades will become standard as new more innovative technologies come out. Our computer technology is being integrated into our vehicles because we have become so dependent on cars that it is a necessity. Why not make travel fun and easy at the same time.

Software Evaluation

I installed and reviewed the Remote Amp for my evaluation. The installation required installing it to your pocket PC as well as your PC. The installation was easy and the program runs great. I never thought they would have a program like this. It was definitely made for the lazy man. I love laying in bed and controlling the playlist on my PC. I have a separate sound system connected to my PC and it is great for our little dorm room get togethers. A lot of my friends are amazed by my pocket PC and consider remote amp the "coolest thing ever dude".
Thanks to Chris Aversa's very detailed and informative power point presentation I am enjoying remote amp. Chris Aversa is quite adept in the field of IT, a great student as well. I actually had a little but of fun with the program. I installed it on my roommates PC while he was in the shower. I tested it on him when he was using is headphones and listening to some music. Let's just say I freaked him out a bit, it was great. He promptly uninstalled the program. I enjoy using the remote amp, except for the muting of the song. I most likely will purchase the full version when I am more adequately funded.

Wireless with Pocket PCs

This weekend I traveled far and wide to discover wireless. Actually I am exaggerating the fact, but I did travel to find wireless. Here in Windham, NH i went to the starbucks in Barnes and Noble and found free access to wireless. It was totally free and the connection was quite good, I believe they offer wireless for free because most people buy food from starbucks or purchase something from Barnes and Noble. No one actually goes there to read and use internet for free, who would do something like that? Well I did and it was fun. Also another place I tried out was Pinera, which I believe offers wireless internet at all their locations. The internet there was also free, and I bought a small pastry. Other places for wireless was harvard square, i went there on saturday afternoon and found wireless. And one other place I found wireless was my own home, I apparently one of my neighbors has wireless and it was open, so i used it.
I love having my pocket PC in the car, I have had my car on campus for a little while and my pocket PC has helped a great deal. I got lost in Boston on Sunday, so i found wireless internet and went to mapquest and got directions back to school, it was great. Also I wanted to check the weather forecast before I washed my car, because why spend money when its going to rain the next day. So i got wireless and updated the forecast on AccuWeather, and i got the forecast. So my Pocket PC did come quite useful, and my next task is to go to the Aston Martin dealership in Waltham and whip out my Pocket PC and pretend I am all fancy and such. Should be fun.
